Here's the truth: Teachers are tired of sitting through boring, irrelevant professional development sessions. Educators agree that differentiating content for students based on their level of understanding and performance is critical to success in the classroom. But, with the growing body of research backing up personalized models, and increasing focus on delivering these kinds of experiences to students, why aren’t more districts considering a similar approach to professional development for teachers? Participants joining this session want to change the Professional Development model for the betterment of themselves and their colleagues. In this session, you will discover and explore techniques for delivering effective and relevant PD. You'll explore how one district switches up staff meetings using the technology we already have (and no we don't mean email) or technologies that are FREE; such as: "Badges” or micro-credentials, Bite-Sized/Take-and-Go PD, A School/District Podcast, Magazines, and much more.
