Are you ready to take a gamble on new ideas to reenergize your mindset and learning space? Visit our EDUCasino where we share 7 “bets” that every educator should make. Double down on risk-taking from the unique perspective of a classroom teacher and a former district administrator. Play games of chance as we share practical strategies to help leverage risk-taking, relationships, and equity for all learners.

As school and district leaders, we strive to be connected learners, developing relationships that will guide our organizations forward. Modeling and promoting continuous professional learning for ourselves and others, leaders who are “all in” engage in learning networks to collaboratively learn with and mentor other professionals. While this is a leadership standard, it applies to all levels; administrators, teachers, and students.

Educators are leaders in their classrooms and throughout their organizations. They deliberately seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment, success, and to improve teaching and learning. Connected educators understand the ways they can empower others using technology as a tool to enhance personal and professional learning.

The relationships that school and district leaders build with connected educators focus in on one common goal and that is a focus on our students. We make choices as educators that allow us to empower our students. We can do this when we leverage technology to advance student learning. We can give students ownership, as they take an active role in choosing, achieving and demonstrating competency in their learning goals.

As teachers, leaders, and learners we set personal learning goals, develop strategies to achieve those goals and reflect on the learning process itself to improve learning outcomes for all.
