Inspired by Teen Talk Barbie's "Math class is Tough", Kristen set out to change the way students experienced math. From memorizing procedures, asking "When am I ever going to need this?" to exploring real, relevant and rigorous mathematics through student-centered practices and project-based learning, Kristen has been shaking up high school mathematics for over a decade. She is a high school math teacher and instructional coach working with teachers nationwide to bring PBL to their classrooms.
